Navarre falls in District 1-4A final

In a back and forth match all night, Navarre fell short of claiming its first District 1-4A title.
The Raiders lost in four games to Washington on Tuesday, but will still go to regionals for the first time since 2002.
¡§It was a good match,¡¨ Navarre coach Shelley Bradford said. ¡§Washington played well and our kids fought, but they just beat us tonight.¡¨
¡§We¡¦re going to put tonight¡¦s loss behind us, get back in the gym and prepare for next Wednesday.¡¨
Navarre will travel to the District 2 champion on Wednesday for the regional quarterfinals.
The two teams had split during the regular season.

Ć District 1-A: Rocky Bayou was ousted in the semifinals by top-seeded John Paul II in three games.
The Knights finish the season at 5-22.
Allison vande Voorde led the Knights with three kills. Laurel Hill had also advanced to the semifinals against Munroe, but no results were available at press time.
