PREP ROUNDUP: 2/20

The Fort Walton Beach tennis teams traded wins with Mosley on Monday.

The Viking girls (2-2) won 6-1 while the boys fell 5-2 to the Dolphins. The girls were led by Stephanie Pridgen and Savannah Hagan. Both won at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions and teamed up for a dominant 9-2 doubles win.

Dezmon Fortenberry led the Viking boys (2-2) with a win at his No. 1 position and he teamed with Xavion Gorham for a doubles win.

The Vikings will host Choctawhatchee today at the Fort Walton Beach Tennis Center.

Softball

l Freeport 6, Vernon 0: Mary Kate Myrick led the way for the Bulldogs (2-4) in the win. She hit a homerun, drove in two runs and got the win in the circle by striking out four, walking three and allowing just three hits. Megan Seibert and Laura Ham each doubled and recorded an RBI for Freeport.

Freeport travels to Laurel Hill today.
