Robinson leads Choctaw over Washington
Staff Report
Phillip Roebuck returned the opening kick 78 yards for a touchdown and Le'Keefe Robinson ran for his fourth touchdown of the year as Choctawhatchee improved to 2-0 under first-year head coach Greg Thomas with a 21-10 win at Washington.
Following Roebuck's electrifying return, Washington answered with a 26-yard run by Joseph Franzone to knot the score at 7-7 in the second quarter. Choctaw responded when Robinson burst through for a 6-yard touchdown run.
Washington place kicker Connor McDonald connected on a 19-yard field goal as the half expired to cut the Indians' lead to four points at 14-10.
The second half saw little scoring as a 2-yard touchdown run by Choctaw quarterback David Weber gave the Indians their winning margin.
Thomas, who arrived on the Indians' campus by way of J.H. Rose (N.C.) prior to the season, will now make his Etheredge Stadium debut having posted a perfect 2-0 mark on the road.
Choctaw hosts Pine Forest Friday.
