Choctaw's Corvo, Strom win at Long Pentathlon (WITH PHOTOS)
Choctawhatchee, Niceville and Fort Walton Beach each had swimmers compete in the 200 individual medley, 100 fly, 100 backstroke, 100 breastroke and 100 freestyle, with the winner being the individual who had the fastest overall time in the five events.

After finishing second in last week’s Short Pentathlon, Corvo earned top-billing with a time of 6:29.98, edging teammate Olivia Strom (6:38.33) and last week’s winner, Fort Walton Beach’s Samantha Laughlin (6:41.22). Rounding out the girls’ top five were Niceville’s Alexa Birmingham (7:14.41) and Fort Walton Beach’s Paige Regelman (7:14.71).
On the boys’ side, the top five had a heavy Choctaw presence with Alex Strom (5:50.17), Patrick Whitehurst (6:05.05) and Michael Whitehurst (6:06.99) finishing first, third and fourth, respectively.
Niceville’s Ross Spock (5:52.97) finished second while Fort Walton Beach’s Joshua Williams (6:18.65) placed fifth.
