Roper scores 31 in Niceville win
Arianna Roper went off Wednesday night, pumping in 31 points in the Niceville girls basketball team's 68-50 victory over Tate in District 1-5A action.
Roper drained six 3-pointers and also had four steals for Niceville (12-5, 7-3). Cassandra Brown chipped in 13 points while Natalya Owens grabbed eight rebounds.
Niceville plays at 6 p.m. at Navarre on Saturday.
Choctaw boys fall to Escambia
Tyler Tisza scored 14 points in his first varsity start and Kadeem White added 11, but it wasn't enough as the Choctawhatchee boys basketball team fell 53-45 to Escambia in a District 1-5A game on Tuesday.
Devontee Lawson, Tommy Brassell and Phillip Roebuck had eight points apiece for the Indians (3-10, 0-8), who play Friday at Hattiesburg (Miss.).
Eagles stay perfect in district soccer
The Niceville boys soccer team keeps rolling along in District 1-5A action, improving to 11-0 after Wednesday's 3-0 win over Pace.
Reed White scored on a penalty kick, Christian Fulmer converted a pass from Andy Poveda and Pedro Alba scored off a look from Alex Stanton.
Ryan Riggs had four saves in goal for Niceville (14-1-3 overall) while Jake Pratt was cited for his defense.
Niceville plays at Choctawhatchee on Friday.
