FWB's Rogers signs with Spring Hill basketball
Kristin Rogers, who helped lead the Fort Walton Beach girls basketball team to the District 1-5A tournament finals and the regional semifinals, has signed a letter of intent to play for Spring Hill College.
Rogers was a second-team All-Area selection by the Daily News her junior and senior seasons. This year, she scored 13 points and helped lead the West to a 112-73 victory over the East in the Freedom All-Star Classic.
The 5-foot-6 guard was the lone senior on a Vikings' squad that finished 17-12.
Spring Hill is an NAIA school located in Mobile, Ala., and is a member of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference.
"I am extremely excited about the possibilities Kristin will bring to the Lady Badgers," Spring Hill coach Ray Fron said in a release. "She has the ability to play multiple positions. Kristin comes from a sound program with good coaching. Very simply, Kristin is a competitor."
